I was hanging out with the ladies at our favorite place following a meeting when this came through on my phone. I think, only a couple of miles away? It's time to go!!! So I tell the ladies that I need to go...RIGHT NOW!! Luckily one of the ladies with me, birch3, was there and was up for the challenge and we "kidnapped" another member and took the opportunity to introduce her to the wonderful world of geocaching!! Even in the dark and rain we made the trip. It was only my second FTF, and was thrilled to get this. It was also the first time we met a fellow cacher while out on the hunt!! We met Clan RunningBison on this hunt! It was a pleasure to meet him and talk about geocaching and scouting.

Thanks to VenturingPete for placing this cache! This is a great cache of this size in town.

I also thought that after our conversation on scouting and knowing that a scouting group put this out I thought it would be appropriate to place a very nice BSA geocoin here.

Thanks!!

Oh well...looks like I'll have to settle for first to log and STF...I saw this one published in my email and, after getting the OK from my wife, ran upstairs to change out of my PJs. I scurried out in the rain and dark to attempt the FTF. As I approached ground zero on Ackerman Blvd. my hopes were dashed when I saw minivan taillights already in the parking lot. C'est la vie!

I had a lovely conversation with the three friendly ladies who made FTF. Many congratulations to each of you! We had a nice chat about Boy Scouts and our kids' experiences. It turns out that we have many common friends and acquaintances in Scouting, including the CO, VenturingPete.

Excellent first hide Pete and Crew 193. It's not often you find an actual ammo box hide within the city limits. Well done!

Great cache! Fun to find an ammo can in an urban environment too.

Ventured over here this morning, and did the scoping as I drove around the parking area in my car. Fairly sure at that point where it was, I ventured out of my car, sauntered over and retrieved it, and took it back to my car where I could really enjoy all the trackables and swag that were there. Dropped off one TB, and took 2 others that I can help with their missions, since I will be venturing to Alaska in a few weeks.

I think the Boy Scouts are a great program, and I am sure that this branch is as well. And of course, we all love ice cream!! Best wishes on all your endeavors.

Thanks for the great cache!!
